Our Design Process

1. 20 minutes Complimentary phone consultation with Yumi Murayama
We would be delighted to schedule a complimentary 15-20 minute discovery call where we can delve deeper into your project requirements and design aspirations. Please book an appointment now.

2. In-Home Consultation with Yumi (up to 2 hours): From $780* + GST ~ (dependent on location)

Every design project begins with a crucial first step: the Consultation. In this comprehensive two-hour meeting, Yumi will address your key questions, outline an initial scope of work by consolidating your wishes and must-do lists, discuss your budget expectations, and set the stage for your design project with precision.

Following the meeting, you will receive a consultation summary report (scope of work) and an interior design agreement. Once you review and agree to these documents, we can proceed to the next step. Please schedule an initial phone consultation now!

3. Trade Day
After you approve the scope of work and finalize the agreement, you’ll be introduced to our team and skilled trade partners. We will schedule a visit to your home where we’ll review the project details and scope of work before beginning the design process. Consider it a comprehensive discussion where every detail is thoroughly explored.

4. Research, Design, Presentation

Tailored to your needs, we will prepare a design package including mill work details and wall treatments, along with physical samples of materials, fabrics, and more.

5. Order & Installation

Now that the major design decisions are finalized, you can sit back and relax. Our team will handle all the orders, delivery, and installation, while coordinating with contractors and trades to ensure everything aligns with our designs. Rest assured, we will keep you informed with regular updates throughout the process!

6. Reveal Day

This is where the magic truly happens. It’s the thrilling moment when everything comes together and your inviting home comes to life. Our team will style your space to perfection, transforming it into a magazine-worthy haven and inviting you to enjoy every detail.

7. Project Closure & Deficiencies

It’s time to bring everything to a perfect finish. We don’t consider the project complete until every detail is finalized. Our team will conduct a thorough review of the finished space, address any remaining issues, and present you with a project binder that includes all care and maintenance instructions for the future. And, of course, we hope to celebrate together with a toast!
